Policies & School Rules

School Rules

Parents, children and teachers should all be proud of our school and should show their pride by adhering to the following rules. As indicated in the Word: "Do not do unto others as you would not wish others do unto you."

​

A. SCHOOL GROUNDS

It is expected that each learner:

1. Shows honour and respect to their elders.

2. Keeps the school grounds neat and clean.

3. Will not leave the school premises during school hours without permission from the School Director.

4. Will not use foul language or partake in rough play or bullying.

5. Will push their bicycles when on the school premises during school or extramural hours.

6. Will use the school gates and not climb over walls or on the roof of the school.

7. Will not damage any trees or plants on the premises.

8. Will not bring chewing gum to school, on the school bus or any other event where the learner represents the school.

9. Will not sell any items privately on school grounds, except for on Market Day.

B. CLASSROOMS AND CORRIDORS

10. Will not use the main entrance and office block when moving between classes.

11. Will not enter the classrooms, corridors and school hall without permission during break or before the school day commences.

12. Will move to and from classes in a single file.

13. Will try not to leave black scuff marks on the tiles.

14. Will use a black or navy blue Cadii in the case of a wheelie bag, and drag it properly behind them. When using stairs, lift the Cadii.

15. Will not enter the Pre-primary premises without permission.

16. Will use playground equipment only under supervision and with permission from a teacher or prefect.

17. Will not eat or sell anything in the school hall.

18. Will not bring any toys or pets to school.

19. WILL NOT BRING CELLPHONES OR SMARTWATCHES TO SCHOOL OR FIELD TRIPS OR SPORT EVENTS. A penalty fee of N$50 will be charged for such an offence and only parents will be allowed to collect the item from the school.

C. DRESSCODE

20. Will only wear neat and clean prescribed school attire. New learners will be given a one. month grace period to acquire the correct uniform. Sportswear is compulsory. All sportswear and school jerseys are available at Aletta's Clothing.

BOYS

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Grey shorts (long grey pants for winter are optional), white open collar shirt, school jersey, black school shoes and grey school socks-not white.

 

SPORTSWEAR

Sport shorts, golf shirt, white socks, tekkies and tracksuit on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

​

RUGBY: Dark blue rugby shorts. Jerseys will be provided.

HOCKEY: Dark blue shorts. Long hockey socks. Jerseys will be provided.

ATHLETICS: Dark blue rugby shorts and golf shirt.

CRICKET/TENNIS: Golf shirt, dark blue rugby short/white cricket longs, white socks and tekkies.

 

GIRLS

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

Grey skirt or long grey pants, white open collar shirt, school jersey, black school shoes and grey school socks with pants-white socks with skirt. In winter, girls may wear thick navy blue stockings without socks. NB. No skirt may be 10cm above the knee.

SPORTSWEAR

Sport shorts, golf shirt, white socks, tekkies and tracksuit on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

HOCKEY: Dark blue shorts. Long hockey socks. Jerseys will be provided.

ATHLETICS: Dark blue rugby shorts and golf shirt.

TENNIS: Golf shirt, short dark blue ski pants, white socks and tekkies.

 

21. No learner may wear jewellery to school. Girls, however may wear gold or silver sleepers or studs in their earlobes-one in each ear.

22. Hair must be neat and clean. The fringe may not hang in the eyes.

GIRLS:

Short hair that touches the collar must be tied. Long hair can be plaited or pulled back with a navy blue Alice band, navy blue, yellow and white ribbons, navy blue hair bands or clips. No wet look styles are allowed.

BOYS:

Hair may not touch the collar and must not cover the ears. No trending hairstyles are allowed. No designs may be etched into the hair or eyebrows. No sudden difference in hair length on the top and sides will be allowed. No colour, gel or other styling products may be used.

23. NAILS: Nails may not extend beyond the tips of the fingers when viewing from the inside of the hand. No nail polish is allowed.

 

D. GENERAL

24. Homework should be completed often and well.

25. I forgot' is not an excuse for incomplete homework.

26. Use only a school bag with sturdy paneling as flimsy bags damage books.

27. No learner may be absent from school without permission. A signed letter should be presented to the home class teacher. When absent for more than three days, a medical certificate should be presented.

28. A signed letter from a parent should be presented should the learner be required to leave school earlier at the end of semester.

29. We believe in self-discipline in order to behave correctly.

30. Study time:

      Grade 4: 1h15min

      Grade 5: 1h30min

      Grade 6: 2h

      Grade 7: 2h30min

31. Personal property lost on the school premises is not covered by the school insurance.

32. Learners must use the door at the grade 4 entrance after hours. No learner may use the main entrance.

33. Behaviour in and out of school must always portray obedience.
